Chris Crewther MP, Federal Member for Dunkley, today welcomed the re-location of Family Life's vital services for our region, attending the official opening of their new Family Relationship Centre (FRC) in Frankston.
The Federal Minister for Health, the Hon. Greg Hunt MP, congratulated Mr Crewther on his advocacy as he opened the facility on Monday 6 August 2018.
“Chris is a tireless advocate for his constituents,” Minister Hunt said. “This facility will provide much-needed support to local residents and I applaud Chris and Jo Cavanagh for their work for the community.”
Family Life will receive about $4 million from the federal government for their new FRC.
It is also now equipped with wifi for clients' use while they are at the Centre, following the Federal Government’s $10,000 contribution through the Stronger Communities Programme.
"Family Life make an invaluable contribution to our community in the work that they do in assisting families right across the Dunkley electorate, said Mr Crewther.
The board and staff members welcomed the new facilities, and Jo Cavanagh, CEO of Family Life, also said, with respect to the communications upgrade that it "... will ensure the relocated Family Relationship Centre has modern communications powered by wifi to facilitate services with and for families.
"Family Life is committing $250k for a modern activity based centre set up which will deliver savings over time with more appropriate and economical use of property and infrastructure whilst transferring to technology enabled services."
"I’m delighted that these new facilities will enable them to continue to do so, to an even greater extent, and congratulate each and every member and volunteer who contributes to Family Life’s work on the dedication and commitment that they show daily towards our community," Mr Crewther said.
